Yes, our class B RV does have a shower, and it works very well, thank you. But sometimes, I just want to stand under hot water for like, 30 minutes. Or maybe we want to conserve water, or just don’t want to bother with showering in our RV. On times like that, we’re not above hitting a campground shower.
But let’s face it, they can be… gross. Enter Showaflops. These are purpose-built flip-flops that are designed to get you from your campsite to the shower, through the shower, and back again. Check them out in this quick video we shot at the 2015 Outdoor Retailer Show.
To answer your first question: the girl you see in the shower is actually wearing something.
And the answers to your other questions are just as encouraging. As you see in the video, these flip-flops have a number of features that make them the smart choice for the trek to the shower house.
- They have drainage holes, to help your feet dry off.
- They have a slip-resistant bottom, to keep you upright on wet surfaces.
- They have an anti-microbial coating, to protect you from whatever lurks in the shower.
And beyond that, they offer them in a variety of interesting patterns and designs, which makes them a notch above “fungus barrier shower shoes” in our book. Stef and I each have a pair now, and they seem a bit thicker and more cushion-y than the standard drug store flip flops. We usually take off our shoes to enter the RV anyway, so we may wind up using them as all-day RV shoes as well. Just joined your site to learn about rvs. Questions for you: Did the factory modify the Travato to include a dry shower? The mattress system seem weird. How is that working for you? Why would Stef drive the Dodge but not the Sprinter? The refrigerator looks small, especially if I want to do an extended trip, let’s say 6 months. I understand this is a deeper fridge, but still only about 4 cu. ft. How does it serve you? Thanks.
Our Travato has the standard shower that’s in all of the 59Gs.
While the mattress may seem “weird”, it’s insanely comfortable.
The Sprinter was much more difficult to handle, especially in cross winds. Stef didn’t really like driving it.
The refrigerator is plenty big enough. Stef no longer wishes for anything bigger, and we’ve not had a single instance where it didn’t hold what we wanted. And think about it: It’s not like you buy groceries once and live off them for 6 months. You buy groceries weekly or whatever, and that same frequency works with the RV fridge. (You just don’t leave mostly-empty bottles of salad dressing in the fridge for 2 years to take up the extra space like you do in a home fridge.)
